Sioux Lookout, Ontario is located in Northwestern Ontario, Canada and is approximately one
hour north of Dryden, Ontario. The Municipality of Sioux Lookout includes Alcona and Hudson for
a total population of 5,200. Sioux Lookout is 366 km from Thunder Bay, Ontario and 435 km from
Winnipeg, Manitoba. Lakes, trees and rocks surround the area. Fishing, camping, golf, boating,
canoeing and hiking are popular summer activities. Skiing and snowmobiling are favourite winter
pastimes.

PROGRAM SERVICES
The SLDP was established 11 years ago and is a member program of The Northern Diabetes Health Network in Thunder Bay Ontario, Canada.
Our team presently consists of 3 Diabetes Nurse Educators, 2 Diabetes Dietitian Educators and an Office Administrator. We visit the remote northern communities by small plane monthly, as well as a walk in centre located in downtown Sioux Lookout.
